Ashley "Iceskater" Elway is a fictional character appearing in HELLCATS: STRIKE FORCE.
Early Life and Education
Ashley Ann Elway was born and raised in the Badlands of Venus to Emma Jean "EJ/Edge" Elway, a former racecar driver turned auto mechanic, and Ronda "Ronnie" Elway, a former racecar crew chief turned sheriff's deputy. Her middle name derives from her grandmother Ann Elway, a sheriff's deputy who was killed by a wanted fugitive she was pursuing.
Iceskater constantly ran away from home in her youth, having frequent run-ins with the local sheriff's department and their patrol drones. Despite her troubled upbringing and sometimes poor grades in high school, Iceskater would later go on to attend and graduate from college on Venus.[1]
Career
After college and in a move of desperation, Iceskater enlisted in the United Space Star Force rather than join as a commissioned officer. Iceskater required a "patriotism waiver" to enlist in Star Force due to her poor patriotism score on her Peacekeeper Aptitude Battery exam she took in high school.
She would spend her first three years of enlistment consistently applying to become a Rapid Reconnaissance Flight Officer, her applications being constantly rejected until she was eventually accepted.
After commissioning as a Rapid Reconnaissance Flight Officer, Iceskater saw multiple combat tours against insurgent forces on Mars and Venus before being assigned as a Weapons Officer to Gold Flight of the 8th Fighter/Reconnaissance Squadron on the USS Martha King, where she was paired up with Ensign Katie "Vulture" Beauchamp.
Personal Life
Iceskater is a motor car enthusiast, and grew up racing them (often illegally).
She identifies as an atheist, having identified as affiliated with the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as a joke on her official Star Force records, unaware this would appear on her holotags.
She used to date Lieutenant Valerie "Duckcaller" Mallard. They broke up prior to the events of Hellcats: Strike Force.
