A Spacecraft Carrier is an interstellar combat starship operated by the United Space Star Force designed for transporting, deploying, arming, and recovering spaceships- primarily Hellcats.
Spacecraft carriers are designed to conduct all of their operations from space and are not capable of landing or taking off from planets, docking at orbital space stations for resupply and repairs.
They are often the capital ship of a fleet, capable of projecting space power anywhere within the Federation of the United Space. Their design and function emulates aircraft carriers previously used in naval warfare on Earth prior to the 24th century.

Flight Deck[]
A Spacecraft Carrier features a flight deck located on the keel (bottom) of the ship. This design allows for space fighters to deploy within closer proximity to a planet's surface for rapid atmospheric entry. The flight deck utilizes a magnetic propulsion launch system for spaceships to conserve fuel.
Interstellar Travel[]
Unlike spaceships, Spacecraft Carriers are starships, meaning they are capable of Faster-Than-Light (FTL) travel via ADASC drive in order to travel vast distances between the Federation's star systems, as well as into uncharted space.
Billets[]

Spacecraft Carriers contain several billets where crew members sleep between rotations. Accommodations vary based on ranks- officers at the rank of ensign commonly share billets with 4 (or more) other ensigns.
